Kasımpaşa - Hasköy Tunnel, which was constructed within the scope of relieving the traffic of Istanbul and connected Hasköy and Kasımpaşa, went into service.
Our citizens will reach to their destinations much easier through the Kasımpaşa-Hasköy Tunnel that provides connection to the vehicles driving from the direction of Taksim, Şişhane, Galata, Karaköy and Unkapanı to the D100 Highway. The tunnel which has a total length of 6,507 meters, including two tubes of 1,316 meters and 1,234 meters each, 3,817 meters of connecting roads, and 140 meters of cut-and-cover tunnel will also relieve the traffic of Piyalepaşa Boulevard located between Çağlayan and Kasımpaşa.
Thanks to the opening of the tunnel of 3,100 meters of main body length, existing road with about daily 4,000 active vehicles will be a road available for 40 thousand vehicles.
TARGETS AND BENEFITS OF THE PROJECT
In order to solve the problems experienced on D100 Highway, Kasımpaşa, Karaköy and the nearby areas, the tunnel was constructed between Hasköy and Kasımpaşa, which used to be a bottleneck in transportation. Aynalıkavak Pavilion, historical buildings, historical cemeteries and historical Military Hospital where located in an area that is not possible to cross by the Golden Horne coasts were preserved accordingly.
With the opening of the tunnel, travel time of the vehicles driving from Taksim connection to D100 Highway (and vice versa) will be shortened. From the socio-economic point of view, it will also contribute to the tourism in the Golden Horne and Galata regions greatly.
